A customer service representative and her employer, a New England branch of a major, national power transmission distributor, are both $250 richer as winners of Collars' first New Product and Service Suggestion Contest. It ran from February 1st to April 30th and was promoted through direct mail and this website.
The payoff was a $250 L.L. Bean gift certificate for the winning entrant and a $250 Collars and Couplings credit for her employer. The woman’s name was pulled from the pool of entrants.
According to Collars president, Dan Whalen, the contest attracted dozens of suggestions, particularly for new products. “Currently, we’re evaluating which to act on and hope to make decisions soon,” he noted.
New product ideas included bronze bushings, flexible couplings and bearing locknuts.
“We thank all participants for taking the time to offer suggestions and are flattered by the quality of the recommendations and number of entrants,” said Whalen.
